Our Family Roots
Sweet Magnolia’s Kitchen was born out of the Minix and Moore family’s shared love for cooking, baking, and gathering around the table. Our story begins with Marla Minix Moore, the daughter of the renowned Pie Lady, Connie Walden Minix. Marla was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, and the kitchen was the center of her family’s world.
A Taste of Tradition
For decades, the Minix and Moore families have embraced a tradition of culinary excellence. Cooking and baking are more than skills; they are a way of expressing love, forging connections, and creating cherished memories. Each family gathering, holiday celebration, and special occasion is marked by the aroma of delicious dishes prepared with care and shared with joy.
The Sweet Magnolia Cookbook
The Sweet Magnolia Cookbook is a labor of love, a collection of recipes that have stood the test of time. These are the dishes that not only nourished our bodies but also nurtured our souls. The cookbook is a tribute to our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Connie Walden Minix, who instilled in us the importance of cooking with love.
The Inspiration Behind the Cookbook
Our journey to create the Sweet Magnolia Cookbook began as a heartfelt endeavor to preserve and share the extraordinary recipes that filled our family’s kitchen with warmth and delight. After Connie’s retirement from her iconic pie shop, Sweet Magnolia, the family felt a void. We yearned to keep her legacy alive, ensuring that her delicious creations would continue to grace our tables for generations to come.
